Card Art Creations

Cut or punch out 2 Circles

1 x 1- 1/2 inch

1 x 2 inch

Cut a strip of Crepe paper (slightly bigger than the circle)

 and fold over and back until you have 6 layers,

place the circle on top and cut out

repeat for both sizes

Scrunch all the layer up tightly

and then open them back out,

but not fully

For the larger flowers place the 6 smaller petals on top of the 6 larger petals, for the smaller flower, you need 6 smaller petals

Make a hole in the centre and thread a brad through

The flowers also look lovely when a button is stitched in place

This flowers is made with non woven fabric instead of crepe paper

( I used a 6 petal flower punch 2 inch and 1/ 1/2 inch size, from Crafts Too UK.  to make  the flower)

or you can download a 6 petal flower shape, and freehand cut out the petals.

Poppy made with Red non woven fabric petals, with a black centre.

(the center petals are not opened out) 

the organza leaves are made with wired edge organza ribbon.

This flower has a gathered organza layers inbetween the paper layers, and a organza ribbon centre.

This flowes has only 4 layers, of stretch crepe paper petals,

each petal has been tipped with gold stickles.

Card Sizes and envelope guide

I get asked this so much I decided to add a size chart and Envelope Guide

C5 Card is an A4 Card Scored on the A4 half fold When folded in half  it becomes a C5 Card = C5 Envelope

Half an A4 sheet now becomes an A5 sheet, measuring 21cm by 15cm Score on the A5 Half-fold line. when folded in half. it is called a C6 Card  = C6 Envelope

To make a DL card.

Cut a sheet of  A4 card 21cm by 21cm score it on the A4 Tri-fold line.  = DL envelope

The small piece of card you cut from the A4 card to make the DL card, can now make a small Sq card, score it on the A5 half fold line, and you have a 10 cm by 10 cm card.=  4 - 1/2 inch Sq envelope

Gate -folds

To make a C6 Gate-fold, Cut an A4 sheet in half, and score it on the A5 Gatefold line turn card over and score again on the A5 Gate-fold line.

To make a C5 Gate-fold, score a sheet of A4 card it on the A4 Gate-fold line turn card over and score again on the A4 Gate-fold line.

Make sure you give all scored lines a nice tight crease with a bone folder.

Pop-out Pocket

To Decorate the Main Cards

mat 4 x 13cm by 19cm patterned papers to 4 x 14cm by 20cm gold panels,

Stick a matted panel to the front, back and both inside panels,

ready for the Pop-out  pocket.

and decorate as you like

This is a great card to hold a gift voucher or money.

    To make the pop out pocket

      1. Cut a sheet of card 14cm by 30cm, score it on the A4 tri-fold line and the A4 Half fold line, rotate card and score it again on the A4 Tri-fold line, give all the scored lines a nice tight crease with a bone folder.

   2.  You now need to cut away a wavy edge from the card, and I have drawn this free-hand. Take a piece of card the same size as the  outside panel 10cm by 14cm, and draw a wavy line

                           

3. Cut the Wavy edge off. (This is now your Template)

                   

4.     Line the template up on the right hand panel of the card, and draw the wavy line, turn the template over, on the left hand side and repeat

                     

                     

 

     5 . Cut the tops off.

        

6. You now need to make the templates for the top layer of the pocket, so cut a second piece of card, 9cm by 13cm and place it behind the first template centrally,

                       

    

           Draw the Wavy line out.

     

        Cut the top off

                               

       You now have a equal boarder around each panel.
