Tutorial for Pleated Lace Doily Rosette, and Double Easel Card

Card Recipe

2 x A4 White hammer cards

1 x A4 pink card

1 x A4 green card

1 sheet of printed plaid paper From Clipart Fairy

Teddy Bea Downloads from Teddy Bo Designs

3 x 9cm lace doilies from Poppy's Cabin

1 x 2 inch white punched circle

2 x 2-1/2 inch pink paper circles

Crochet Flowers and a large self adhesive pearl

1. Score an A4 sheet of card on the A4 Half fold line and again on the A4 Gate fold line to create the main easel card. Give all score lines a nice tight crease.

2. Stick the 13cm by 19cm printed plaid paper to the pink 14cm by 20cm card, and stick it to the floor of the easel card,

3. Stick the 5 ½ cm by 19cm piece of plaid paper to the 6 ½ cm by 20 cm pink card. And stick to the front of the easel.

4. Cut a sheet of A4 white card 10cm by 30cm and score it on the A4 half fold line to create a long C6 card, stick your insert inside your card, and stick this to the left of the easel. ( making sure the card can close and fit inside a C5 envelope)

5. Cut out the Teddy Bea Mum topper 8cm by 13cm and stick it to a piece of pink card 9cm by 14cm. Stick the topper to the front of the C6 card centrally.

6. Cut out the mothers day greeting, 3cm by 4 ½ cm and add some punched detail to the corners, stick it to the pink die-cut, add a double layer of foam pads on the back ( to make it high enough for the C6 card to rest against)

7. To make the smaller easel, cut a Strip of White card 9cm by 30cm, Score it on the A4 Half fold line and again on the A4 Tri- fold line, turn card round and score it again on the A4 Tri- fold line. You now need to trim 2cm from the floor end of the easel, (So that the card can close neatly) Give all scored lines a nice tight crease.

8. The small easel card needs to be stuck together to help it stand up. Stick the 3^rd panel and the 4th panel together. ( See image 3)

9. Stick the 7cm by 6cm Plaid panel to the 8cm by 7cm Pink card and stick it to the floor of the small easel, Stick the small easel card to the floor of the larger easel card, to the left hand side. About 1cm in from the edge.

10. Stick the pink card 8cm by 9 cm to the front of the small easel.

11. Cut out the Phrase (mum), 3cm by 4 ½ cm and add some punched detail to the corners, stick it to the pink die-cut, and stick a double layer of foam pads on the back ( to make it high enough for the Small easel card to rest against)

12. To make the Doily Circle flower Fan. Stick 1 of the doilies to the back of the 2inch circle, Squeeze a small amount of glue on to the centre of the circle, and leave it to one side, to slightly go off (set)

13. Fold the 2^nd doily in half, and again in quarter, (cut through one of the fold lines to the middle. You now need to fold and pleat each of the quarters, working round the doily to form a fan shape, Repeat this with the second doily, both halves make the flower, Stick both halves to form the flower on to the glued circle. Squeeze a small amount of glue in the centre, ready for the pink paper flower fan.

14. To make the pink paper fan flower, repeat the steps in 11. and stick the paper flower on top of the doily flower.

15. Cut out the Smaller Teddy Bea, and stick it to card, and re-cut it out to make it stronger, ( this will help the doily flower not to crush when the card is closed) Put a triple layer of foam tape in the centre of the doily flower, and stick Teddy Bea to it.

16. Decorate with some flowers or embellishments.

9cm lace doily

Fold in half

Then fold in Quarter

Cut through a fold line just past the centre

In each 1/4 there are 3 fan shapes, pleat and fold each of the fans

Continue working all the way round

Repeat with the 2nd doily

and stick both doilies together, by adding some glue to the last pleats on one of the doilies, allow the glue to slightly set, and join them together. to form the Rosette

Stick 1 of the doilies to the back of the 2inch circle, Squeeze a small amount of glue on to the centre of the circle, and leave it to one side,

to slightly go off (set)

Stick the Rosette to the centre of the punched circle.

As this card was quiet high when closed I have add instructions for a Box to fit it, made with a Crafters Companion board.

Box Measurements and instructions

Measure the size of the card when closed, Cut an A4 sheet of card 5cm larger

Example

Card is 15cm by 21cm

So measurements should be 20cm by 26cm, this will allow a little room for the card to move in the box, or tissue paper to be added inside, Working on the base side of a crafters companion board score on all 4 sides on the 1^st line.

Because most of us only have A4 card, it is not wide enough to make a 3/4cm depth box. (Which some of the higher cards will need)

To make the Box high enough, cut strips 3/4cm high the same length as the base of the box,(inside) and stick the strips neatly inside, to give it a neater look, choose a contrasting coloured card and cut 3/4cm Sq pieces of card to stick on the outside of each corner, you can add peel-offs for extra detail.

Make the lid the same measurements as the base but score it on the 1^st line of the lid side of the crafters companion board.

Add some matching card to the lid, you could add some detail with punches, flowers, or gems

Use organza ribbon to tie box.

1. Score an A4 sheet of card in half

2. Score the 2^nd sheet on the base side of the crafters companion box maker side, on the 3^rd line, 6^th line, 9^th line, fold card on the last score line, and place score line against the butt bar, and score again on the 3^rd line., this will give you a mounting fold, valley fold, mountain fold, and valley fold with a 11cm panel at the end, stick the 11cm panel to the inside of the A5 card, to the back wall.

3. Cut and Stick a 14 ½ cm by 21 cm panel to the back wall, to cover the join neatly.

4. Stick your insert to the inside of the C5 card, and add some extra double sided tape to the ends of the insert to stop it moving.

5. Stick the 12cm by 18cm printed floral paper to the 13cm by 19cm plaid paper, and stick the paper layers to the 14cm by 20cm silver panel, stick these to the front of the main card centrally.

6. Stick the embossed panel 7cm by 21cm across the front of your card.

7. Stick the punched 3 inch circle (Happy Birthday) to the blue 3. 1/2 inch scalloped circle, and raise it on foam pads, stick it towards the top of the right hand side of your card.

8. Stick the Printed 3cm by 21cm floral strip to the 4cm by 21cm blue strip and stick them to the front step.

9. Cut out the flowers and butterflies, and give each flower layer a curled edge with the back of your scissors, build up the layers with foam tape, and stick the piece of card candi to the centre of each flower,

10. Arrange the flowers and butterflies on your card, (see image 1 for inspiration)

1. Score an A4 sheet of card in half

3. Cut and Stick a 14 ½ cm by 21 cm panel to the back wall, to cover the join neatly.

4. Stick your insert to the inside of the C5 card, and add some extra double-sided tape to the ends of the insert to stop it moving.

If you don't have embossing folders or large punches you can still make this card

Tutorial for ruffled ribbon

To add a gathered ribbon to a lace panel

Take about 1 1/2 meters of organza ribbon, leave about a 2 inch piece of ribbon at one end to stick to the back of your card, start stitching loosely through the centre of the ribbon

Pulling the thread to gather the ribbon as you go along.

Secure the 2inch piece to the back of the card

Turn card facing you

And start to stick the gathered ribbon to the

Hi-tac tape as you stitch,

keep stitching the ribbon and pulling the thread to gather it up, sticking it to the tape as you go along,

When you get to the other end secure the end of the ribbon to the back of the card, give the end a few extra stitches to secure the gather.

Honeycombe Christmas Decoration

Tutorial

I can't take the credit for this one, as I saw it demonstrated on a video on Amazing Paper Grace

You need the Patience's of a saint, and I am showing the Girls how to make it on Wednesday night,

I wonder who will hit me with it first.

For this you will need a 3 1/2 inch scalloped circle punch or

a 3 1/2 inch die cut,

Punch out 18 circles in different shades,

Double sided paper work best for this, max 80gsm in weight as heavier will just pull apart.

You should get 6 from an A4 Sheet.

Fold each circle in half

Use one of the waste pieces as a template

Marking it as in the picture above. with number 1 and 2

to show you where to stick your glue dots,

Take your first folded circle and stick 3 glue dots in line with number 1

you are working on the white side to start.

And stick the second folded circle on top,

Stick four glue dots to the coloured side at the number 2 markings on the template.

(Inside and outside of each folded circle is stuck together.)

Repeat this, sticking each folded circle on top of the other alternating the numbers with each folded circle,

and the pattern should look like the picture above

When you have all 18 circles stuck together,

Add strips of Hi-Tac tape to the spine

(I have 3 strips on mine)

I have threaded beads on to some wire and attached to some ribbon (looped and tied to form a handle)

Stick some Hi-Tac tape in the position needed to finish the pattern, and pull open the ball, This is very fiddly

Try tweezing the honeycombe open with a ball tool

in between each of the gaps.

Fresh Christmas Wreath Tutorial

Every year I make my own holly wreath for my front door,

So I decided to do a tutorial, so that you can make your own.

Christmas Wreath instructions by Yvonne Tune

Mossing the Wire wreath frame
(these are available from most florists and garden centres)
if you can't find one, try overlaying 3or 4 wire coat hangers together pulled out to form a rough circle, tie them together with wire to secure the shape,

1. Secure wire to the wreath frame.

2. Take a clump of moss (as much as you can fit in your hand) and sit it on the frame, bring wire over moss and back under the frame, repeat this until the whole frame is covered,

3. You now need to tightly secure the moss, by going round the frame again, only this time pulling the wire tighter.

Attaching Greenery to the mossed ring

What every greenery you pick from the garden, choose ones that are evergreen,

Alternate each bunch, with a bunch of Christmas tree green.

This will give an even finish to the ring.

1, Start with a bunch of Christmas tree green, make each bunch as close in size as the one before. Bring the wire over the bunch just like you did when mossing the frame

Pull tightly each time to secure the foliage

2. Take next bunch of different foliage, and repeat the action until you have totally covered the frame.

3. You will end up with a gap at the end, but try to keep the gap tight,
4. Where the gap is left, this is the perfect place for your ribbon.

To add Fresh fruit, seed heads or artificial Christmas picks or flowers.

You will need heavy gage wire for this, (18 gage)
simply push the wire through the fruit, straight across, towards the bottom, you may need to put 2 wires through the apples

And bend the wire downwards. Use a back of a teaspoon, so you don't bruise the fruit.

1 wire for the oranges, should be enough, when you push the wire through the fruit, bend it downwards, Use a back of a teaspoon, so you don't bruise the fruit.

Push the wires through the moss frame, and then re-insert the wire by bringing it towards you, and pushing it back into the moss frame, hooking over the side of the frame, to secure it.

Tie small bunches of Cinnamon sticks together with wire, and wrap with string. the Christmas picks are normally already wired just push through the wreath, and hook the wire, back through the frame.

Pine cones can be dried on the radiator to make them open to wrap the wire around, they will close up again once they are outside in the cold. Seed heads, can be attached the same way as the fruit.

My tip for checking which greenery will last, is to cut small pieces and leave the out over night in the garden, the ones that are stll firm should hold for a few weeks.

(my wreath normally lasts 6 weeks, and even then it's still fresh enough, you might need to change the fruit, half way through)

Paper Rose Tutorial

To make these pretty paper rose flowers

You need 4 punched flowers

I have used a 2inch 6 petal flower punched

Or you can buy die-cut sheet of different size flowers from Stephanie Weighman

You will need a good quality hi-tac clear drying glue for this project.

Collall Book binding Glue is the best one I have found.

Cut a slit between 2 petals in the first flower.

Cut a petal out of the 2^nd flower.

Cut 2 petals out of the 3^r Flower

Cut the 4^th flower in half, and cut a petal off one half.

You will have 3 remaining single petals, (these can be used to fill in any gaps, or to hide glue)

To stick the petals to form the rose

1^st Flower. Bring over 1 petal from first flower and stick it behind the flower to form a 5 petal flower

2^nd Flower. Repeat giving you a 4 petaled flower

3^rd Flower. Repeat to give you a tri petaled flower

4^th Flower. Repeat to give you a 2 petaled flower,

The last few single petals can be curled to make the centre of the flower, and to be used to hide gaps.

You need to flatten the middle of the 1^st flower, the best way is with your ball tool on a soft mat.

Then cut about 1/3 off the bottom of all the other flowers.

Squeeze a good amount of Hi Tac PVA Glue into the centre of the first flower.

Place the remaining flowers into the centre of the first flower, alternating the petals, until you have your rose. The glue will dry clear. if you feel the rose looks unbalanced, snip the ends off the remain 3 single petals, and slip then into the flower to make it look more even shaped.

You could decorate the tips with stickles

Or a glue pen and add fine glitter to add sparkle.

This flowers was made with120gsm hammer paper, I used a gold ink pad to add colour to the tips of each petal, and then crushed all the petals before I arranged the rose together, this gives the flower a more vintage feel.

Vintage Bow Tutorial

Instructions for Vintage style bow

You will need 4 strips of ribbon for this bow

1x 8 inch

1x 6 inch

and a slightly narrower 25mm 1 x 10inches

I have used 40mm width

take the 8inch strip and form a circle, over lapping the two ends

Squeeze flat

take the 6inch strip and form a circle, over lapping the two ends

sit this centrally on top of first circle

and squeeze flat

take the 2nd 6 inch strip and place it behind the 2 flat circles

Gather and pinch the middle

take some fine florist wire and wrap around the centre

twisting the wire at the back to secure, snip the excess wire, leaving a small amount, which you flatten

Cut a v shape notch off the 2 end tails, to make the bow as in picture below

Fold the last narrow strip of ribbon, and use it to hide the wire in the middle, and tie the bow together.

Cut 2 V shaped notches from tails to make the bow look neater

stick to projects with a hot glue gun.

Four loop bow tutorial

Instructions for a four loop bow

Take a strip of satin ribbon about 18 inches long

holding the ribbon between the thumb and index finger in the left hand, with a 6in lenght of ribbon between the left and right hand, bring your right hand over towards the centre,

forming a loop,

and slip the tail under your left thumb.

Now bring the long tail of ribbon, back towards the middle, forming the 2nd loop, and slip it under your thumb

to form the third loop, bring the long tail under, around the back to make the third loop, and slip it in front of your finger.

(Between Thumb and Finger)

And bring the tail over the top towards the centre, and slip under your thumb to form the forth loop. you will need to trim the tails to the same size.

Pinch and pleat the middle of the bow, and using some fine florist wire, wrap the wire around the centre, and twist ends together so the the bow can not come undone.

Take a small piece of ribbon about 7cm, and lay it across the middle of bow

and tie it at the back

pull all tails towards the bottom of bow.

This bow is perfect for a miniature Bouquet

or added to a card for a pretty finish.

I use a hot Glue gun to stick bows, as it sticks instantly.

Miniature Bouquet Tutorial

Instructions for a miniature Bouquet

For this project you will need

5 leaves

5 Flowers

2 bows varying in size

and florist Tape

To Start take 1 of the leaves, and place the second leaf slightly lower to the left of the first leaf.

Place one of the roses towards the first leaf centrally.

As you place each piece you will need to twist the wires,

(think how a coil of rope looks, and twist every stem in the same direction, that way you will have a very tight narrow stem at the end.

Add the 3rd leaf to the right

Add the 2nd flower under the 1st flower slightly to the left.

Add the 3rd flower to the right of the 2nd flower

Now add the 4th leaf to the left , slightly below the 2nd flower.

Add the 5th leaf to the right slightly below the 3rd flower

Now add the 4th flower

And lastly the 5th flower

Stagger the flowers as you come down the bouquet

and remember to twist all the wires in the same direction

Cut off the excess wires, the stem should be about 3cm long

Using florist tape wrap the stem to hide the wires.

using your glue gun attach the larger bow just under the last flower.

and stick the smaller bow on top

This little bouquet is beautiful when encased in an Raised Oval Aperture Card

Raised Oval Aperture Card Tutorial

Instructions for Raised Oval Aperture Card

1. Score an A4 card on the A4 half fold line

2. Trim 5mm from both sides to allow card to fit in box, made from 2 sheets of A4 card.

3. Trim Insert to fit.

4. To make the top of your card. Cut 10 cm off an A4 Sheet of card. Giving you a 20 cm by 21cm piece of card.

5. Score both outer edges on the first line of your box maker side of the crafters companion board.

6. Using the largest of an Xcut oval cutter. Cut an oval from the centre of your sheet using the inside of the oval template.

7. Fold the creased lines and give each score line a nice tight crease, put double sided tape on the inside of the folded in lines,
8. Stick the acetate to the inside of the aperture. and stick it to one side of the 14cm by 21cm Background card .

9. The oval panel you have left now needs to be cut again on the inside of the middle size oval template, you need this for the matting layer behind your window. You can emboss this panel for more detail. stick the miniature bouquet to the oval panel, and stick it centrally to the background card, wrapping the oval acetate behind the background card. to form the raised Aperture. (because the front card is larger than the inside panel it will form the raised dome.)

10. Add some detail to the outside edge of the aperture.
With peel-offs, gems or pearls

11. You now need to stick the raised aperture to the C5 card using double sided tape on all four sides.

18. This cards design is perfect for decoupage or miniature bouquets

This card is made slightly smaller to fit in a box made from 2 sheets of A4 Card.

To make a box to fit this card using a Crafters Companion Board

19. Score an A4 piece of card on the second line of the base side. And a second A4 card on the 2^nd line for the lid side, cut a slit into each corner and stick with a glue gun. Or good quality book binding glue, lighter glue will not hold. And decorate with contrasting card ribbon and peel-offs. See picture above

1 Score 2 sheets of A4 card in Half

2. Score a A4 Sheet of card for the middle sheet of card on the A4 Half fold line, and on the A4 Concertina line, turn card over and score again on the A4 Concertina line.

3. The Concertina fold card, need to be stuck in between the 2x C5 Cards.

( to form the book front and back covers.) so stick the 2 outside panels in between the C5 cards, with glue or Double sided tape.

4. Decorate the inside of the card by Matting and Layering the silver card and the printed panels, (you have a right and left panel)

4a. Stick the printed paper panels to the middle section of the card, cut out the teddy with the cake, and matt and layer it on to Pink and purple card,

( if it sits slightly over the spine if the middle card, it wont matter as it will still close and fit neatly in the envelope) Cut out the Birthday banner and fold in half, attach it to the spine of the card, But let it slightly over hand the spine, so that if pop-out when the card is open.

5. Stretch the card full open, (inside face down) and stick the 4 strip of ribbons right across the back with Double sided tape to the covers of the book, allow a tiny bit extra in the centre to allow the card to shut, Stick the larger pink and cream flowers over the ribbon in the concertina on either panel, to hold the ribbon in place.

5. To Decorate the front and back covers, stick the Printed paper to the corner of the pink layer alternating the papers,

Stick the deep pink ribbon across the printed paper with narrow double sided tape, and bring the ends behind the pink card, secure the ribbon with extra tape. Matt this to the purple piece of card, and stick these to the front and back cover.

6. Matt and layer the teddy images onto lilac and silver card, matt the greeting on to the scrap card in your kit, Stick the Ribbon tails underneath flowers in your kit to each corner.

Tutorial for Fathers Day Card

Off to the Races

1. Fold A4 sheet of card in half, and stick the insert inside, (remember to trim the insert first and add some punched detail corners,) (see post below on inserts)

2. Stick a 14 -1/2 cm by 20 -1/2 cm piece of gold card to main card,

3. Stick the 14cm by 20cm sheet of printed paper to the gold card centrally.

4. Stick the 5cm by 20cm blue strip of card to the 6cm by 21cm strip of gold card, and stick this about 1 cm from the bottom of card.

5. Cut out the main horse image and matt and layer to the blue card and then gold. and stick it to the right hand side of card, overlapping the blue and gold strip.. add the decoupage layers to the horse.

6. Add the Racing memorabilia to the left hand side of card, I found the selection I used on Google images.

6. Matt and layer the greeting on to the blue card and then gold card.

7. Lastly stick the gold trophy to the left hand side of the blue and gold strip.

Insert Tutorial

Instructions for Inserts for C5 card
Which is a A4 sheet of card landscape scored and folded in half

I get asked a lot, about how do I do my inserts?

Well this is how I do mine. So here it goes.

Open a new page in Microsoft word,

Change page layout to landscape. ( go into file, click on page set up, you will see Orientations, either Portrait or Landscape, click landscape.

Add 2 columns, (to find the column tool, the symbol looks like this

And should be on your tool bar menu

You will then have to move the spacer bars over to ½ cm at both sides, this will give you 2 even spaced columns, and will make the insert centralised.

Now to add a picture

Go to goggle click on images, and choose an image i.e. if you are doing a wedding card look for wedding bells/wedding flowers/wedding rings. click on the image,

Which will bring you to a new page, at the top of the page

There will be a little box with the image in it, click on (See full size image) “which is next to the image”, copy image and paste to your left column, centralise the image and drop down to where you want the image to be on the sheet, you can add a greeting underneath the image or a date if you want.

Now drop down until you jump over to the right column. And type your poem or greeting, choose a font colour to match the image, choose font size and the font you like, centralise the greeting and drop down to centre of sheet, and print

Your page will be slightly to big to fit inside a C5 card so fold in half and trim about 3 mm from the sides and 3mm from either top or bottom of the insert, use a corner or a boarder punch to add some pretty detail.

To fit your insert inside your card, add a small 2 to 3 inch strip of double sided tape in the middle of the insert, to both sides of the insert about 1 inch in from the bind

Remove tape from one side only. Open card wide and Make sure both binds are fitting snugly together (this means the insert and the inside fold of the card) now close your card and tape will stick to one side of your card only, now remove the tape from the other side and close again. this works perfectly for me,

If you want to do a A4 sheet folded in half for a C5 card landscape
Open a page in microsoft word, it will automatically be set to portrait, simply add your image to the centre of the top half
scroll down past 17cm in the margin
and type your greeting, repeat the steps above.

For a C6
Open a page in microsoft word, it will automatically be set to portrait, move top margins to 1/2 cm either side, and add 2 columns
Add your first image to the top half of left column, scroll down and add a second image about 19cm down the page. drop down till you jump across to the 2nd column, and add your greeting, opposite each image. this will give you 2 inserts for C6 size cards.

Tri-Fold Cascade Card

Instructions for Tri-Fold Cascade Concertina card

1. With a pencil Draw a Mark on a A4 sheet of card at the top at 7cm.
And on the opposite end mark the card at 14cm draw a diagonal line from the 7cm to the 14cm mark, as in picture below.

2. Cut the card through the line giving you 2 equal shapes

3. Score each panel of the card on the A4 half fold and on the A4 concertina fold, turn card and score it again on the A4 Concertina fold line. This will give you 4 equal width panels

4. To make the slots to form the cascade card, place the card at the straight edge on your score board, using your ruler, place the edge of ruler at the narrowest edge and mark the card at the two out side score lines.

On one card you need to cut through the scored line from the top to the mark,

And on the other card you need to cut through the scored line from the bottom to the mark,

Interweave the slots together and it will form this Shape.

To make your matting and layering panels

5. Repeat Step 1, on the pink card, when cut, you need to trim ½ cm from the straight edge, and cut 4 x 6 ½ cm panels, starting with the Smallest end, otherwise the panels will be to Big

6. Repeat step 1, on the piece of printed paper and cut 1cm from the straight edge, and cut 4 x 6cm panels. starting with the Smallest end, otherwise the panels will be to Big.

7. Matt and layer all panels (remember you have right and left hand panels) using glue, stick panels to the cascade card. TOP TIP Arrange all the panels flat on the table before you start sticking then to the main card. So that you know where to to stick the panels. Mark the panels 1 to 4 in pencil while the card is interweaved.

8. I Decorate with the pink flowers and leaves on opposite panels added the pearls to the centre of the flowers, and lastly add the butterflies.

9. Stick a 15cm Sq card to the back of card to make it stronger, and to add an insert.

10. Add a greeting to the front

11. And your insert to the back card.

This card folds flat, and can fit in a 15cm Sq envelope,

To make a box for this size card,

Cut an A4 sheet of card 21cm Square, and score it on the second line of the box maker side of the crafters companion board. for the lid and the base,

Recipe for this card
1 x A4 sheet of cream card
1 x A4 sheet of pink card
2 x A4 sheets of printed paper, you need 2 sheets because you need a right and a left panel.
1 x 15cm Square card
flowers (wild orchid crafts)
butterflies (Martha Stewart Large Monarch Butterfly punch)
self adhesive pearls for centre of flowers.

Diamond Spring Fold Easel Card

Diamond Spring fold Easel Card
What I've used to make this card
2 x A4 sheets of lilac card
1 x A4 sheet of silver card
1 x A4 Sheet of patterned paper
1 x A5 Sheet of white card
1 image from sheet of craft creation die-cut decoupage
Some peel-off glitter boarders and corners
10inch strip guipure lace
Some fine florist wire
Some Pearl headed florist pins
Beads, Tiny bow and satin roses

1. Cut a sheet of A4 Card to 15cm by 30cm.
2. Score the card in half (giving you 2 x 15cm Squares
3. Score the top half of the card diagonally.

4. Turn card and score it again diagonally.( Take care while doing this as it's easy to pucker the corner)
5. Now score the top half through the diagonal lines
6. This will give you 2 large triangles and 4 smaller ones

7. Now fold all the scored lines and give them a nice tight crease with your bone folder.
8. Pinching in the middle section to form the spring

9. Put double sides tape on the top triangle

To Decorate the card
10. I now cut a large silver panel 14 -1/2 cm by 14 -1/2cm and a pretty paper panel 14cm by 14cm for the floor of your card.
11. To make the panel for the main card, cut a lilac panel 10 -1/2 cm by 10- 1/2 cm, and a silver panel 10cm by 10cm, and a pretty paper panel 9-1/2 cm by 9. 1/2cm layer them up.
(the main topper is smaller so that when the card is closed it will fit in a C5 envelope)
12. I punched some panels 15cm long in silver lilac and the patterned paper, and layered them up to decorate the floor of the card.
13. And than a 8cm Sq panel in lilac, and a white 7- 1/2cm panel to make my topper,
14. Stick all these panels to your card

14. To decorate the 4 small triangles
cut a Square 9- 1/2 cm and cut it diagonally,

15. And then each triangle in 2 to give you 4 small triangles. Stick these to the main card

16. Put double sided tape on the last triangle. and stick it to the floor (this allows the Diamond easel to pop-up)

17.To make the vintage lace posy you will need a strip of lace, and some fine wire, or needle and thread.

18. Thread the wire through the lace at the straight edge, and pull tightly, twisting the wire to secure it.

19. I threaded beads on to some pearl headed florist pins, pushed them through the lace posy, threaded a few more beads on the the end of the pin, and secured them with hot glue, (Clare has just given me a great tip, don't push the pins right through the posy and the hot glue will secure it so no sharp ends, you could use 4 pins instead of 2 and you would see them more clearly)

Or make your own, check penney's for cheap bead necklaces to decorate Pearl headed pins.

I then stuck a tiny organza bow, and some satin roses in the centre. and stuck this to the floor of the card with hot glue.

20. Lastly I added my decoupage topper and some peel-offs to finish it off. If you want to add a greeting to this card you could stick one to the back of the main diamond panel.

Twin Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone looking in,

This is my first Picture Tutorial
As the First Holy Communion seasons starts soon, I thought I would do a Split Double Easel card
Marie from the club brought a template for this card to my class last week, and I managed to see it demonstrated on Create and Craft on Thursday, so here is my version I hope you enjoy it, any questions please email me HERE

1. Cut a Sheet of A4 Card to 20cm by 20cm

2. Score the Card in Half, and fold
3. Cut the top section in half, giving you 2 equal squares 10cm by 10cm

4. Using your score board, Start at the right hand top corner of the right side and score down to the bottom left hand corner. giving you a diagonal score line.

5. Repeat this, but in the opposite direction, on the left hand side of the easel.

6. Fold both score lines, and give them a nice tight crease with your bone folder.
7. Stick double sides tape on both of the inside triangles.

8. Cut 2 Panels 10cm by 10 cm

8B. And stick to the Triangles

9. Now Start to decorate the easels

I cut 2 silver Squares 9 1/2 cm by 9 1/2 cm and 2 Gingham Squares 8 1/2 cm by 8 1/2 cm
and layered them up.

9 B. I Cut a Silver panel 20cm by 10cm and a Patterned Paper 19 1/2 cm by 9 1/2 cm and Stuck these to the floor of the easel.

I then made an easel rest, by sticking 2 silver strips back to back, (to make the easel stronger) Punched a Strip of white card, and added a strip of gingham, I finished it off with peel-offs, and raised it on foam pads, sticking it about a 1/2 cm from the bottom of the card to form the rest.

I cut out an oval first holy communion image, and using a deckle scissors I matted and layered it on to pink and then silver card. and stuck it to the left easel raised on foam pads

I then typed out (Especially for you on your First Holy Communion Day), and mounted it on pink and silver card, using my deckle scissors to match the image, I stuck a lovely little chalice (which I got from An Siopi Bui) to the side of the words, and Lastly Decorated the Easel Rest with some die-cuts to act as the rests, added some pretty punched leaves and lovely Roses from (Wild Orchid Crafts)
You can make a greeting to sit on the floor of this card.

Box measurements for this card
Because the card is quiet high when closed. (because of the flowers) you will need to make a box for it
1. Take a A4 sheet of card and score it on the 3rd line of the box maker side of a crafters companion score board, on all 4 sides, do this for the lid and base, you can cut a window in the lid and add some acetate to view the card in the box.
